Course Description
An office setting is a structured, yet challenging, environment where a diverse group of people work together toward one common goal: to get the job done. Whether you are in the first few months of a new position, or have an established career, there is one way to be successful in your job: professionalism. As an employee, your contribution to accomplish this goal is very important, and you are a critical piece to the puzzle.
Backpack to Briefcase is an online course that addresses professionalism in the workplace. Through a variety of instructional presentations and engaging activities, participants will explore four attributes of professionalism: attitudes, behaviors, appropriate appearance, and best practices in technology. This course has been divided into three dynamically
segmented modules; each module will provide tools and strategies to apply the attributes of professionalism.
Learning Objectives
• Module One - This module will explore professional attitudes that are essential in the workplace and begin the review of eight corresponding behaviors.
• Module Two - This module will continue to review the eight professional behaviors and various techniques to be an effective staff member and a skillful time manager.
• Module Three - This module will conclude the eight professional behaviors and review elements of professional appearance and technology best practices.
Training Registration
Learning Management System (LMS) Users: Log into the LMS via the MyNewJersey portal and click eLearning. Click on the Browse icon, and navigate to “Government & Compliance.” Select the desired training and click “Launch.”
