Course Description
As a supervisor, you are an integral part of your organization’s efforts to promote a safe and inclusive workplace. This State mandated training certification aligns with the information outlined in the New Jersey State Policy Prohibiting Discrimination in the Workplace State Policy. To comply with the annual training obligation, you will be assigned this course every two years.
This self-paced course includes an introduction and four engaging modules. Each module offers an interactive experience with an animated mentor, interactive story, and scenario-based assessments relevant to anti-discrimination and harassment behaviors, retaliation, recognizing and reporting violations, and best practices for reducing the probability of discrimination and harassment in the workplace.
Learning Objectives
After completion of the course, you will be able to:
• Review key elements of the New Jersey State Policy Prohibiting Discrimination in the Workplace
• Understand the definition of a supervisor
• Assess your role as a responsible leader to foster a work environment free from discriminatory or harassing behaviors
• Identify discriminatory and harassing behavior when it occurs and report it to your agency’s Office of EEO/AA
• Recognize the potential of being held personally liable in a court of law for not responding appropriately to reports of workplace discrimination
• Identify the best practices for reporting workplace discrimination complaints
• Interpret the prohibition against retaliation and comply with the confidentiality directive
Training Registration
Learning Management System (LMS) Users: Log into the LMS via the MyNewJersey portal and click eLearning. Click on the Browse icon, and navigate to “Government & Compliance.” Select the desired training and click “Launch.”
