Purpose: The Social and Emotional Learning grant program is a federally-funded program using redirected FY18 Title I carryover funds, which is intended to enhance or establish evidence-based Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programming to improve social and emotional skills, attitudes, behavior and academic performance among at risk students. This grant program is a seven month grant program. The maximum award under this program is $250,000 and is funded from FY18 18 Title I redirected carryover funds. Eligibility to apply for this SEL Grant is open to all New Jersey Title-I funded LEAs (including charter schools and Renaissance Projects) and which have a district poverty rate of 35 percent or higher and operate a Title I targeted assistance or a Title I schoolwide program, in their Title I-funded school. The project period is March 1, 2019-September 30, 2019.
