Outdoor Workers Tick Toolkit
Outdoor workers are at risk of exposure to tickborne diseases if they work at sites where ticks are present. NJDOH created an Outdoor Workers Tick Toolkit to help employers provide information to their employees of how to prevent tick bites and tickborne diseases. Employers are encouraged to provide tickborne disease information to new staff and annually in early spring.
This Outdoor Workers Tick Toolkit contains materials to educate and inform outdoor workers and their employers on the risks of tick bites and diseases caused by ticks along with how to help prevent them. There is also a presentation with pre-made captions that employers can use to share information with their employees. To request a presentation for outdoor workers at your worksite, contact your local health department or the CDS Speaker’s Bureau.
