Language Access Law
Nearly a third of New Jerseyans age five and older speak a language other than English, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 American Community Survey. Among those 2.6 million people, more than 38 percent speak English “less than very well.” On January 12, 2024, Governor Murphy enacted P.L. 2023, c.263 (“Language Access Law”), which requires certain State agencies and departments that provide direct services to the public to meet specific language access requirements. The Casino Control Commission (“Commission”) provides direct services and information to the general public as defined in the Language Access Law and is therefore subject to this law.
Language Access Plan
The Commission is committed to ensuring meaningful access for individuals with Limited English Proficiency (“LEP”). We provide language assistance services at no cost.
The information in the Commission’s Language Access Plan reflects the Commission’s current assessment, practices, services, staffing, and resources as of December 2025. The Commission is committed to continuing its efforts toward ongoing implementation of language access and will revise its plan in accordance with the Language Access Law. To ensure accurate translations and to provide robust quality assurance, the Commission’s translated Language Access Plan is verified by qualified human translators. (Verification pending as of December 2025.)
