Securing Our Children's Future Bond Act

Announcing the availability of the grant application for the Fall 2021 cycle of the Securing Our Children's Future Bond Act Career and Technical Education (CTE) expansion projects at county colleges in New Jersey.

The Fall 2021 cycle is the second cycle of competitive grants to be offered under the Securing Our Children's Future Bond Act, which authorizes a total of $50,000,000 for grants. The Fall 2021 cycle allocates $24,043,004 in grants. Grant funds requested are limited to $4,000,000 per application. The grants will be used to fund construction projects for facilities that support county college CTE program enhancements by constructing or expanding classrooms, laboratories, libraries, computer facilities, and other academic structures to increase CTE program capacity, which will provide direct benefits to students.

Securing Our Children's Future (SOFC) Bond Act Career and Technical Education Program Expansion Grants Now Substantially Approved

The Office of the Secretary of Higher Education is pleased to announce that on July 1, 2021, Governor Phil Murphy signed A5888 into law, which provides for the approval of eligible Securing Our Children's Future (SOCF) Bond Act County College Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Expansion grants. The grants for projects listed in the legislation are now considered substantially approved.

On November 6, 2018, the voters approved a general obligation bond issuance of $50,000,000 for county college career and technical education (CTE) grants in association with the Securing Our Children’s Future Bond Act, P.L. 2018, c. 119 (the Act), which Governor Murphy signed on August 27, 2018.

One purpose of the Act is to provide New Jersey county colleges with financial resources to increase the county colleges’ capacity to offer CTE programs.
