New Jersey Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council

Hardyston Township in northeastern Sussex County wraps around Hamburg and Franklin Boroughs, and marks the western edge of the Highlands region in Sussex County along with Vernon Township, its neighbor to the north. In 2011 Hardyston’s petition for plan conformance in the Preservation Area was approved by the Highlands Council and the township is now working to align local planning and regulatory documents with the goals, policies, and objectives of the RMP.
