Mount Olive Township in western Morris County is home to Budd Lake, an important water body that serves as the headwaters to the South Branch of the Raritan River. The township enjoys a mix of residential and commercial areas, bisected by US route 46, and with a portion of Interstate 80 passing through the northern part of the township. Redevelopment Area Designation Review
The Highlands Council is currently considering a proposed Highlands Redevelopment Area Designation in Mount Olive Township. The Highlands Council Staff Review of the proposal along with a public notice announcing a public comment period are below. The public comment period closed on July 16, 2025. The Highlands Council will hold a public hearing on this review at an upcoming regular meeting.
