The Office of the Ombudsman for Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and Their Families was established by the New Jersey State Legislature in December 2017 to serve individuals and their families –to help make sure that they get the supports and services they need and deserve. According to the enabling legislation, the Ombudsman is required to “issue a written report annually. The report shall include a summary of the services the ombudsman provided during the year and any specific recommendations the ombudsman deems appropriate and necessary concerning the State’s implementation of procedures with respect to providing individuals and families with services and supports.
