Application Period Closed for Boardwalk Preservation Fund

The Boardwalk Preservation Fund grant program is administered by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs' (DCA) Division of Disaster Recovey and Mitigation (DRM). The program is made possible through federal funding from the American Rescue Plan.

The Boardwalk Preservation Fund aims to make critical investments in the boardwalk infrastructure of the Jersey Shore. The goal is to address the most critical and necessary capital needs along the Jersey Shore by rebuilding outdated and crumbling boardwalk infrastructure, removing blight, and mitigating condemned/abandoned properties on the boardwalks. Targeting $100,000,000 in capital investments along the Jersey Shore will strengthen the boardwalk infrastructure and improve local tourism and economies. Successful applications will include strategies that enable or improve commercial, retail or transportation corridors. Successful applications will also invest in state-of-the-art materials that will meet the following objectives:

• Increase storm resiliency
• Improve ADA access to boardwalk facilities
• Ensure safer and longer lasting infrastructure

 

Deadlines:

Questions shall be submitted by Friday, September 15, 2023 at 5:00 PM. Applicants shall send their questions via email to: DRM.BPFApplication@dca.nj.gov.

Responses to the questions shall be posted to the DRM website by Friday, September 22, 2023.

Applications shall be submitted by Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 5:00 PM.

Applicants may submit applications via email to DRM.BPFApplication@dca.nj.gov.

Applications may also be hand delivered in the lobby of the DCA building. DRM staff will be set up in the lobby of the DCA building located at 101 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ 08625, on October 31, 2023 to accept hand delivered applications.
