Code Red Pilot Program

New Jersey's Code Red Pilot Program is helping protect our most vulnerable residents during extreme heat and poor air quality. Through this initiative, Camden, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, and Monmouth counties are offering cooling centers, hydration, transportation support, and outreach services to individuals at risk of heat-related illness — including those experiencing homelessness or living in unsafe conditions.

Beyond these five pilot counties, many other NJ counties and municipalities also provide their own heat mitigation services and cooling locations for residents in need. For more information you can dial 2-1-1.
