Professional Certification Programs
Due to the volume of applications the Division receives, receipt of individual renewal applications cannot be confirmed. Please check your bank account to see if your check was deposited as proof of receipt. Renewed certifications are printed and mailed every four (4) to six (6) weeks. If you have not received your renewal certificate within two (2) months of your check being deposited, please contact the Certification Unit at DLGS.Certification@dca.nj.gov. Include your name as it appears on the certification, your certification number, and type of certification.

The exam application deadline is thirty (30) calendar days before the exam date.
IMPORTANT: Applications are considered timely if on or before the application deadline the application is either (1) postmarked by the United States Postal Service (USPS), (2) in the custody of a delivery service company that provides tracking, or (3) is e-mailed to DLGS.Certification@dca.nj.gov by 11:59pm on the application deadline. Applications e-mailed must be followed with a hard copy and application fee. Applications with no USPS postmark or tracking received after the application deadline will be deemed late and held for the next exam. Dates printed by a postage machine are not accepted as proof of timeliness. The application deadline is set by statute and there are no exemptions permitted.

Temporary Chief Finance Officer
Individuals who hold a certification for a position cannot be appointed to that position on an acting, interim, temporary, or similar basis. Tax Collectors must hold a Certified Tax Collector certificate as there is no statutory provision allowing for a Tax Collector to serve in an acting, interim, temporary, or similar capacity.
