The Woman’s Literary Club and other citizens of Bound Brook decided to have a new library built as a living memorial to those that served in World War I. As a result, the Bound Brook Memorial Library was constructed in 1924 on the footprint of an earlier library. The one-story Colonial Revival style brick building was modeled after Independence Hall, was designed by architect Clinton M. Hill of Jardine, Hill & Murdock, and was constructed by local builder Alexander Morecraft. It is believed that the design may have also been inspired by the Carnegie Library model, which was common in the early twentieth century. In 1966, an addition was added to the rear (east) of the library by architect Karl S. White of Westfield, doubling the size of the building. The library has continuously served the population of Bound Brook and the surrounding region throughout the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.

The 2025 Trust grant will help fund a Historic Preservation Plan, National Register Nomination, as well as design and contract documents.
