The Dr. Condict House, also known as the Presbyterian Church House, is a Key Contributing resource in the Blackwell Street Historic District and is one of the few remaining homes on what was known as Doctor’s Row. The 2 ½-story brick Queen Anne brick home is three bays wide and features a turret. Constructed circa 1890, the house was a home and medical office to three physicians, the first being Arthur Windes Condict (1859-1923), one of the first surgeons to practice in the area. Doctor’s Row on Blackwell Street was strategically located near Dover’s first hospital, which in 1916 was the only hospital along the D L & W Railroad between Morristown and Easton. Dr. Condict practiced in Dover for 30 years and served on the Dover Board of Education as Dover's health officer and was a member of the First Memorial Presbyterian Church. After his death the house continued to be the home and practice to two other physicians continuing the tradition of Doctor’s Row until the 1950s.
