The Crusen House is a 1.5 story stone dwelling constructed by the Moravians circa 1775. The structure retains its original wooden floors, chair rails, plaster walls, and interior doors with original hardware. The grade-level kitchen includes an arched cooking fireplace with bake oven. The floor at this level is made of large pieces of slate. The home was last occupied in the 1950s and has never had indoor plumbing or a central heating system. The off-center chimney was lowered, when asphalt shingles replaced a slate roof in the early 2000s. The Crusen House is a contributing resource to the Hope Historic District for its architectural significance. The Hope Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is one of five Moravian communities in the United States and has 16 extant buildings from the time period. Hope contains one of the largest concentrations of Germanic-style architecture in the state.

The 2025 Trust grant will help fund the preparation of a Preservation Plan and an archaeological investigation.
