The Doric House was constructed in 1845 by local architect Mahlon Fisher. It is one of many houses built by Fisher in the Flemington area and is a contributing resource in the Flemington Historic District. It is a strong example of Greek Revival architecture with its frieze windows, wide entablature, and prominent portico. Today, the Doric House is operated as a historic house museum. A one-story 1940s addition to the Doric House is home the Hunterdon County Historical Society’s Research Library.

The 2024 Trust grant will help fund the restoration of windows.

The 2018 Trust grant helped fund the preparation of an adaptive reuse plan and an assessment of the existing mechanical and electrical systems.
