The In and Out Social Club is notable both for its distinctive architecture and its connection to the history of social and fraternal organizations in Trenton. The prominent masonry building features a mix of Romanesque and Neo-classical elements. The In and Out Social Club was first incorporated in 1889, however, the building at 714-716 S. Clinton Avenue was not erected until late 1892. Social clubs in the Chambersburg neighborhood were particularly prominent. The In and Out Social Club was one of the more well-known clubs in the area with a membership of lawyers, doctors, and businessmen.
The Trust grant helped fund the preparation of a preservation plan.
