Lincoln Park, previously known as West Side Park, is a 273-acre park designed by Charles Lowrie and Daniel W. Langston, two founding members of the American Landscape Society. The park was constructed between 1903 and 1905 and consists of two sections: Lincoln Park East (150 acres) and Lincoln Park West (123 acres). The primary entrance to park is known as Lincoln Park Plaza and was designed by Lowrie and Langston to connect the park with Hudson Boulevard. The U-shaped plan of the plaza creates an impressive, tree-lined view corridor with a stepped pathway and masonry walls that terminate at large fountain designed by Pierre J. Cheron in 1911. The Plaza is also home to the “Lincoln the Mystic” monument dedicated to President Abraham Lincoln, and two identical gazebos (known as the Summer Houses) from which visitors can view the fountain. Lincoln Park Plaza is the only section of the much larger Lincoln Park that is listed in the National Register nomination.

The 2023 Trust grant will help fund the restoration of the North and South Summer Houses and adjoining walls.

The 2019 Trust grant helped fund the creation of a Master Plan for Lincoln Park Plaza.
