The Morristown Post Office is centrally located in the historic district adjacent to the Morristown Green. The building has been in continuous use as a Post Office since its construction in 1916. The Post Office incorporates the stately Classical Revival architectural style, featuring a large marble base, Flemish bond brick work, terra cotta and marble decorative arches and cornices, and large arched Palladian windows. The building features numerous other architecturally-significant features, including decorative brass work in the lobby, detailed molding in the second-floor executive offices, and the use of brass and marble in the Postmaster’s Office.
The 2023 Trust grant will help fund construction drawings specifically to outline the repairs needed to the building’s parapet walls and roof.
