Construction of this building was completed in 1844 for a congregation that was established nearly thirty-five years earlier. The limestone masonry building incorporates Greek Revival and Federal elements within a modified meeting house plan. The building was listed in the New Jersey and National Registers in 1980. The building was abandoned following a decline in the size of the congregation. The building subsequently deteriorated and in 2014 the Township decided to acquire the property for use as a community center.  
  
The Trust grant helped fund the completion the exterior restoration of the building, specifically the north and east elevations, and interior rehabilitation including an ADA entrance and accessible restroom.
