The William Edgar Reeve House is a two-and-one half story frame home constructed circa 1872 in the Italianate style. It is reflective of Westfield’s development transition from the early period of a rural farming community to railroad suburb. The house and acreage behind it were donated by William Reeve family and the Presbyterian Church to the town of Westfield in 1986 and the Society’s tenure began in 2001. Most of the land became a municipal park and the Historical Society restored and interprets the house sitting on the remaining 1.62 acres. The house has been rehabilitated to reflect its period of significance and houses objects from the Society’s collection.  The house is significant for its architecture and landscape design.

The Trust grant will help fund design documents for the New Education and Archive Center.
