Buccleuch Mansion
Grant Award: $209,903 (1991) Grant Recipient: City of New Brunswick County: MiddlesexMunicipality: New Brunswick
Located in Buccleuch Park overlooking the Raritan River, the mansion is probably New Brunswick's finest example of colonial architecture. Built ca. 1740, it contains many notable interior finishes such as original wood paneling, outstanding early Parisian scenic wallpapers, and fine Federal mantels.
The Trust grant helped fund restoration of the exterior to its early nineteenth century appearance. Buccleuch Mansion currently operates as a historic house museum.
