Collings-Knight House

Garden State Historic Preservation Trust Fund
Historic Site Management Grant
Grant Award: $10,500 (2002)
Grant Recipient: Friends of the Collings-Knight House
County: Camden
Municipality: Borough of Collingswood

Owned by the Borough of Collingswood, the Collings-Knight House is locally significant for its association with the 1682 Newton Colony settlement and the most influential families in the local community's history. It is also one of three regional examples of a dwelling designed to appear as an early Georgian home expanded during the Federal period.

The grant helped fund updates to a previous preservation plan and structural analysis and addressed issues of accessibility, restroom facilities, and storage of modern equipment.
