The Emlen Physick House is a key contributing building within the Cape May Historic District. The district is a National Historic Landmark. The 1879 Physick House is attributed to notable Philadelphia architect Frank Furness and is an outstanding example of Victorian Stick Style architecture. The Physick House is the only Victorian house museum open to the public in Cape May and also houses the headquarters of Cape May MAC (Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities).

The 2012 grant will help fund the restoration of deteriorated cedar shingle roofs on three outbuildings.

Previous grants helped fund the restoration of some of the original wood sash windows and the repair and rebuilding of one of the distinctive brick chimneys on the house.
