Hangar #1 is a World War II-era hangar associated with Navy dive-bomber pilot training. The hangar is individually listed in the National Register, is of national significance, and is a Save America’s Treasures site. The hangar serves both as a historic artifact as well as houses a museum of historic aircraft.
The grant helped fund the historically accurate replacement of severely deteriorated windows in the hangar’s west doors.
