The horse stable at Eastside Park actually predates the park, having been built for Charles VanBuren's estate. Adjacent to the stable is the Pavilion, which matches the stables in design and materials. The stables are in a deteriorated state due to municipal alterations and demolition having compromised the building's structure and character.

The Trust grant assisted the preparation of a building assessment and preparation of construction documents to stabilize the structure and restore the exterior. The grant will support the collaborative efforts of Paterson and the Association to rehabilitate and reuse the building, which is proposed for stabling the police horses as part of the park patrol. Exterior restoration and interior rehabilitation is underway, funded by the City of Paterson.
