Feigenspan Mansion was built in 1905 for Christian Feigenspan, owner of one of the largest breweries in the country and known for the manufacture of a brand of beer called "Pride of Newark." The house was designed in the Second Renaissance Revival Style by Warrington Lawrence, and is one of only a few surviving mansions of this style in Newark. Its unusual design addressed the accessibility needs of Mrs. Marie Feigenspan, who used a wheelchair.

The 2006 grant will help fund the rehabilitation of the mansion and restoration of its historic finishes. The project is guided by a preservation plan funded by a previous Trust grant.

The Feigenspan Mansion sold into private ownership in early 2011.
