Grant Award: $30,000 (2009); $150,000 (2016)
Grant Recipient: Goshen Volunteer Fire Company
County: Cape May
Municipality: Middle Township

The former schoolhouse was constructed in 1872 and used as a school through the 1950s, at which time it was acquired by the local fire company. The building maintains its rectangular plan, front entrance, and bell tower. It is currently vacant, having been used infrequently for public meetings and events.

The Trust grant would help fund exterior and interior rehabilitation including roof replacement, cupola restoration, cornice repairs, window restoration, and rehabilitation of interior walls and floors. The work is based on priority recommendations of a preservation plan and construction drawings that were prepared with the help of a previous Trust grant. The fire company intends to return the building to public use.
