A school has stood on this site since 1795, and the present school building was constructed in 1928 in the Colonial Revival style.

The Trust grant helped fund the restoration of the original wooden sash windows, a key feature of the original design. Restoring the original windows proved to be less expensive than replacing them with contemporary windows.
