This ca. 1871 brick house of worship is home to the oldest African Methodist Episcopal church in the state. The 2002 Trust matching grant helped fund a preservation plan to make recommendations for repair, restoration and increased accessibility of the church and help guide future decisions regarding the building's increased use for community and outreach programs for youth and families.
