New Brunswick Railroad Station
Grant Award: $162,000 (1992) Grant Recipient: City of New Brunswick County: MiddlesexMunicipality: New Brunswick
The New Brunswick Railroad Station is the last example in New Jersey of a standard station design developed by the Pennsylvania Railroad for medium-sized cities. It is one of the most visible symbols of New Brunswick's historic role as a transportation hub.
The Trust matching grant helped fund replacement of one of the station's most prominent elements, its distinctive slate roof.
