The Old Dutch Bergen Reformed Church was constructed in 1866 and enlarged around 1890. The well-preserved, bracketed, Italianate-influenced frame church is a major feature in the center of Bayonne and a physical reminder of community’s Dutch settlement in 1646. The church's tall steeple is one of the only surviving steeples of its era.
The Trust grant awarded in 2004 helped fund exterior restoration of the church, including wood siding and trim repairs. The previous grant helped fund roof replacement, repairs to the roof drainage system, and restoration of the church’s decorative eaves.
