Constructed in 1811, the Old Stone School has served as a school, militia training headquarters, town hall, and most recently as a grange hall.  It survives as the oldest school in the county, and sits in its original historic district context, adjacent to cultivated fields.  The building is currently vacant and deteriorated.

The 2018 Trust grant helped fund the preparation of a structural analysis, conditions assessment and construction documents. The 2004 grant helped fund the replacement of the cedar shingle roof and wood trim, and a temporary solution to redirect water away from the building.  The work helped stabilize the building while plans were made for its future use. A previous Trust grant funded the preparation of a preservation plan to guide future repair and restoration work.
