Grant Award: $50,000 (2008) Grant Recipient: Crossroads of the American Revolution Association County: MercerMunicipality: Four historic parks in Bergen, Mercer, Morris, and Monmouth Counties
The applicant organization was founded in 2002 and charged with developing a management plan for the Crossroads National Historic Area, established by Congress in 2007. The Area includes 213 municipalities in 13 counties. Each of the participating landmarks and parks are “essential sites” that interpret a particular theme related to the American Revolution, and offer interpretive experiences that explore military, cultural landscape, and daily living themes of 18th century Colonial life.
The Trust 2008 grant helped fund the creation and installation of video and information kiosks that will orient visitors to the unique features of each site, and begin to interpret the Crossroads National Historic Area.
