The matching grant helped fund the exterior restoration and repair of this 1888 Victorian era firehouse, originally the West End Hose Company, No. 3. This work included the reconstruction of the decorative doors and balcony on the street elevation that were removed in 1916. Preservation of the firehouse is supported by Somerset County, the local community, and the borough's fire fighters, who help maintain this historic site. The museum will reopen after interior repairs are complete.
