These organizations were benevolent societies formed to provide various insurance, pension, saving and cooperative banking programs prior to government and employer provided services. The building provided both meeting space and performance space for social activities. Downe Township purchased the building in 2019. The Dividing Creek Historical Society continues to hold its meeting in the building.
