The Statewide Consumer Advisory Committee (SCAC) has merged with the Citizens Advisory Council (CAC). The SCAC Committee is composed of Division leadership along with the managers representing the state’s Community Wellness Centers, Community Peer Recovery Centers and the State Psychiatric Hospital-based wellness centers. The mission of the SCAC Committee is to collaborate/dialogue and to advocate for the needs and interests of individuals, families, and communities that they serve. It also serves as an opportunity where managers support each other by sharing ideas for monthly activities as well as challenges each face. These Committee meetings are held virtually every quarter.
New Jersey’s Community Wellness Centers (CWC) are peer-led and provide a welcome space for emotional support, education and advocacy for people with mental illness and/or co-occuring substance use. For a statewide listing of CWCs (along with their respective monthly Calendar of Events), please visit Community Wellness Centers
New Jersey’s Community Peer Recovery Centers (CPRC) are peer-led spaces where individuals can access peer support and information about treatment and recovery supports for those with substance use disorders. CPRCs provide a safe place for individuals in all phases of recovery to gather in support of one another, share experiences, discuss coping skills and offer each other hope in the community setting. Services also include the provision of Naloxone training and kits. For a statewide listing of CPRCs, visit Community Peer Recovery Centers
