Heat Safety
High temperatures can be life-threatening. Knowing the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke — and acting quickly — can save a life.
Emergency Indicator
If someone is confused, stops sweating, or loses consciousness, call 911 immediately and move them to a cool area while waiting.
Prevention checklist
- Drink water every 15 to 20 minutes, even if not thirsty
- Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and a wide-brimmed hat
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure during peak heat hours

Tick and Mosquito Safety
Prevent bites to reduce the risk of Lyme disease, West Nile virus, and other vector-borne illnesses that are active in New Jersey during summer.
Key prevention steps
- Use EPA-registered repellents containing DEET, picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus
- Perform a full-body tick check after spending time outdoors
- Eliminate standing water around where you are staying

Wash your hands often
Use soap and water for at least 20 seconds before eating and after restrooms. Carry hand sanitizer as a backup.

Stay home if you feel sick
Fever, cough, or respiratory symptoms? Skip the match. You protect yourself and everyone around you.

Check your vaccinations
Make sure routine vaccinations are up to date. International travelers should review CDC travel health recommendations.

Pack the essentials
Sunscreen, a hat, water, and any medications you need. Check the stadium's permitted items list before packing.

Know when to get care
Call 911 for emergencies. Urgent care for non-emergency illness. Call 211 to find care near you. When in doubt, call 911.
