The New Jersey Department of the Treasury’s Grants Management Office is here to help you!
Our goal is to make grant opportunities and resources easily accessible for municipalities, counties, nonprofit organizations, and other interested stakeholders. With a mission to increase the amount of federal grant dollars New Jersey receives, GMO works to help build the capacity of our partners to successfully apply for and manage grant programs. GMO assists in reducing and removing barriers to federal grant funding through identifying grant opportunities, providing grant resources, advocacy, and coordination, among federal grant applicants across the state.
The Grants Management Office does not award or apply for any grant funding. We identify potential sources of grant funding to create, support, and sustain many types of programs that benefit New Jersey. We invite you to become familiar with this site. Please subscribe to receive news about grant opportunities, resources, and more.
The U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released an updated version of the Uniform Guidance as well as reference guides that will streamline and clarify requirements for Federal funding. This is the most significant revision to the Uniform Grants Guidance since it went into effect ten years ago and reflects significant input from over 50 Federal agencies as well as states, local governments, Tribal organizations, nonprofits, colleges and universities, and companies.
The finalized Uniform Grants Guidance will:
- Reduce unnecessary compliance costs
- Remove barriers to entry
- Ensure assistance serves intended communities
OMB issued a memo to federal agencies to direct a government-wide approach to streamline, simplify, and make more accessible the processes, systems, and data standards associated with federal financial assistance to reduce the burden on federal agencies and recipients. This memo requires the revisions to the Uniform Guidance to be effective for all federal awards made on or after October 1, 2024.
