Pallone Secures $1.25 Million in Funding for Alberta Lake Environmental Cleanup and Restoration
February 5, 2026 - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, announced $12.5 million in funding from the Delaware Watershed Conservation Fund to support 30 partner-led conservation projects in the Delaware River watershed.

February 4, 2026 - The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), recently distributed $794 million in block grant funding across the United States and territories for community mental health services and substance abuse treatment and prevention. Providing comprehensive community mental health services for adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbance, and $475 million for the agency’s Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant (SUBG) program to prevent and treat substance abuse.

New Jersey, New York Sue Trump Administration for Illegally Withholding Gateway Tunnel Funding
February 4, 2026 - At a press conference at Newark Penn Station, Acting Attorney General Jennifer Davenport announced that New Jersey and New York are suing the Trump Administration illegally withholding $15 billion in federally committed funding for the Gateway project to provide new tunnels and rehabilitate the existing vital Hudson River rail crossing between northern New Jersey and New York City, jeopardizing the economic future of the Northeast region.

VA to invest all-time high of nearly $5B to improve health care infrastructure

January 27, 2026 - The Gateway Development Commission (GDC) announced today that construction of the Hudson Tunnel Project will pause if disbursements of federal funds do not resume in the coming days. GDC notified the contractors working on the Hudson Tunnel Project today that funding for construction will run out on February 6. GDC’s contractors will spend the next two weeks winding down work at the active construction sites in New York, New Jersey, and the Hudson River. At that time, construction will stop until additional funding becomes available.

EPA Seeks Applicants for Environmental Education Grants
January 26, 2026 - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced up to $3.2 million in funding for environmental education grants to support local, community-driven projects that help Americans protect their water, health, and natural surroundings. EPA expects to award up to 16 grants nationwide, ranging from $200,000 to $250,000 each through the Environmental Education Grant Program. Acting AG Davenport Announces Win in EV Charging Infrastructure Lawsuit
January 26, 2026 - Acting Attorney General Jennifer Davenport announced a decisive victory in a lawsuit against the Trump Administration for unlawfully withholding bipartisan Congressionally-mandated funding for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. That funding, totaling $73 million for New Jersey, would go towards electric vehicle charging infrastructure that helps reduce costs for residents and commuters.

Congressman Kean Secures $6.3 Million for NJ-07 Projects in House Funding Bills
January 23, 2026 - Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. announced that he secured $6.3 million in federal funding for communities throughout New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District. In the government funding bills that cleared the House yesterday six more of Kean's FY2026 Community Project requests were included. These bills deliver $6,334,000 in federal taxpayer dollars directly back to the Seventh District to support critical local projects. The legislation now heads to the Senate for consideration.

1st Place: New Jersey Transit for its “NJ TRANSIT’s Continued Commitment to Combatting Human Trafficking: A Multi-Faceted Approach” proposal to prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by expanding partnerships, training 12,000 employees, launching a public awareness campaign for its 225 million annual passengers, and providing direct support to potentially trafficked individuals."
