Lead Assistance Programs
The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has a variety of lead-based paint hazard assistance programs to assist eligible occupants in remediating and/or abatement lead-based paint hazards in pre-1978 one to ten family residential units. NJDCA’s lead assistance programs are the following:
- Federal Lead Remediation and Abatement Program (LRAP)
- State Lead-Safe Home Remediation Program
- State Single-Family Home Remediation Program
FOR APPLICANTS
Eligible Applications: Submission of an online application using DCAaid Portal (Lead Assistance Program Application) to a designated community-based agency or municipality.
You may qualify for help the lead assistance programs if you meet the following requirements:
- The property has presence of lead-based paint hazards;
- Your household income is within the low-to-moderate income limits;
- You live in a 1 to 10 - unit residential home built before 1978;
- The property is structurally sound.
