Announcements and Updates
Staff Vacancy Fall Submission Opens August 6
The 2026-2027 Staff Vacancy Official Fall Submission opens August 6 and closes October 15. Staff Vacancy reporting covers teaching positions only and includes vacant, newly created and eliminated positions.
RecordID remains an important part of this submission. Leave RecordID blank when creating a new vacancy record. After processing, save the assigned RecordID and reuse it when updating that record.
Review the current handbook, templates and field guidance on the Staff Vacancy User Resources page.
Special Education Practice Period Opens August 20
The 2026-2027 Special Education Practice Period gives districts time to upload data, review processing results and prepare for the official submission period. Practice data is not an official submission.
The practice period closes October 15. The Official Fall Submission Period opens October 19 and closes November 16.
Graduation Snapshot Closes August 31
Districts must inactivate 2025-2026 graduates in Student Management by August 31. There is no separate graduation submission file.
Review Cohort 2026 students carefully, including active students, graduates, transfers and other exits. Only students who earned a state-endorsed diploma by August 31 should be reported with a School Exit Withdrawal Code of L.
The Graduation Data Quality Checklist and other graduation resources on the High School Graduation User Resources page can support this review.
Tip of the Month: Start With Current-Year Resources
Before preparing a 2026-2027 submission, download the current handbook, file template and field guidance from the NJSLEDS User Resources pages. Avoid relying on copies saved from a previous school year, since fields, validation rules and instructions may change. Check the school year shown on each resource before beginning your submission.
