Now Open

The 2026-2027 School Year Is Now Open in NJSLEDS

Student Management and Staff Management opened Monday, July 6, and are accepting data for the 2026-2027 Fall Snapshot collection. No other 2026-2027 submissions are open at this time. Districts are encouraged to submit their first upload of the new school year as soon as possible. As always, make any needed corrections in your local source system first, then upload the corrected records to NJSLEDS. Refreshed handbooks and templates are available on the User Resources page, and key dates are on the Submission Calendar.

Upcoming Deadlines

Wrapping Up the 2025-2026 School Year

Some 2025-2026 collections remain open as the new school year begins. Staff and Student Course Roster and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Official Submissions are due Monday, August 3. The High School Graduation Snapshot, covering 2026 graduates, is due Monday, August 31. CTE-participating districts should confirm their codes against the updated CIP Code List and Industry Valued Credential (IVC) List on the CTE User Resources page before submitting.

Important Announcements

Action RequiredIdentity matching updates now live in ID Management

NJSLEDS has updated how student and staff records are matched. If your district has records in Unresolved due to City of Birth, Country of Birth, Middle Name, Gender or Sex, please reupload those records. Read the full announcement.

Now OpenField change, merge and delete requests open for 2026-2027

Field change, merge and delete requests for Student Management and Staff Management are open again for the 2026-2027 school year. If a request from 2025-2026 was not resubmitted with the original case number before the deadline, it can now be resubmitted through the Contact Help Desk button on the NJSLEDS system homepage. Templates and instructions are on the Key Documents page.

TimingGraduation Student Level Report updates temporarily paused

Nightly updates to the Current data view in the Graduation Student Level Report are temporarily paused. Reports run using Current data will not reflect new Student Management updates until nightly processing resumes. NJDOE expects to resume Current data updates later this month, after the End of Year extract has been processed and incorporated into the report.

TimingCTE and Course Roster report timing

Due to the high volume of data for the CTE and Course Roster submissions, submission records and error reports in NJSLEDS will be generated nightly beginning at midnight and are not updated in real time. After you upload a file, you will see record counts and record status (e.g., number of records processed, valid, or in error) in your Submission History. However, the detailed error reports (showing specific errors and messages) are only generated during the nightly process beginning at midnight.

Files submitted before 11:59 p.m. will be reflected in both your submission records and error report the following morning. Files submitted after midnight will not appear in that morning’s submission records and error report and will instead be included in the next nightly processing cycle.

For example, if a file is uploaded before 11:59 p.m. on a Monday, data will be available to view in your submission records and error reports on Tuesday morning. If data is uploaded after 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Monday, it will be processed during Tuesday night’s run and reflected in your submission report and error report on Wednesday morning.

No Action NeededState Assessment Registration removed from NJSLEDS starting 2026-2027

Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, State Assessment Registration (SAR) is no longer collected through NJSLEDS. Districts should register students directly in the applicable assessment vendor systems in accordance with the timelines and procedures established by each assessment program. For questions, contact assessment@doe.nj.gov.

No Action NeededQSAC adjustments for the End-of-Year Snapshot

NJDOE is applying temporary adjustments to QSAC Operations Indicators 1a and 1b for the 2025-26 End-of-Year (EOY) Snapshot period. These are applied automatically during the QSAC review process, so no district action is required. Read the full announcement.
