NJSLEDS Statewide Launch - September 2, 2025

After months of preparation, pilot testing, and feedback from districts across the state, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) is officially launching the New Jersey Statewide Longitudinal Education Data System (NJSLEDS) on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

This launch builds on the work of our pilot districts and soft launch participants, whose feedback directly shaped system improvements, resources, and training. We are grateful for your partnership as we take this important step together.


What’s Changing

Beginning September 2, NJSLEDS will serve as the official platform for education data submissions in New Jersey. Districts will transition from NJ SMART to NJSLEDS for current and future collections.

NJSLEDS is designed to support districts with:

  • Clearer error reporting and guidance for resolving issues
  • Streamlined submission processes across all collections
  • Centralized access to handbooks, templates, and training materials
  • Long-term sustainability for state reporting

What Districts Should Do Now

Log in and verify access

All active Points of Contact (POCs) will receive credentials on September 2. Step-by-step login instructions are available. If you have not received your login by the end of the day September 3, please contact the NJSLEDS Help Desk.

Begin submitting live data

Districts may begin uploading live data for any open submission (Student Management, Staff Management, and Staff Vacancy). Refer to the User Resources page for current handbooks, templates, and trainings.

Looking Ahead

The statewide launch is the beginning of NJSLEDS—not the end. Ongoing updates will continue to be shared with districts as the system evolves.
