Special One-Time Food Assistance

Special One-Time Food Assistance benefits are now available. If you tried to access your benefits before Monday, January 4, 2021, please try again.
This Way2Go Mastercard is issued by the State of New Jersey and is safe to use.

This special one-time assistance is being provided to your family to help purchase food for your school-age child(ren) who were eligible for free- or reduced-price school meals as of June, but did not receive another form of benefits for food assistance for the month of September.

An amount of $99.62 per child meeting this criteria has been loaded onto this card. If your card is lost, stolen, or damaged, please contact 1-844-551-0029 for a replacement. These benefits should be spent by December 30.

This card does not make you eligible for federal food assistance benefits. If you are in need of food assistance, please visit www.njhelps.org to screen for benefits. You may also visit www.njsnap.gov for more information.

Activate Your Card

Use the Way2Go Card mobile app, GoProgram.com, or call 1-844-551-0029 to activate your card.

The PIN number for your card is your child's date of birth (DOB). Use the two-digit month, two-digit day, and four-digit year (for example: 09012009). If you have more than one child, use the DOB of the child named on that card. If prompted to enter the last four digits of the social security number, enter 0000. You will also need to confirm the zip code where your card was mailed. If you still have an issue, contact your school to confirm the DOB on file and use that DOB to activate your card. For security reasons, the customer service representative cannot provide the DOB on file.

Important Card Safety Tips

Keep your Personal Identification Number (PIN) a secret.  Choose a number that is not easily guessed. Never write it down anywhere, or give it to anyone. We will never call or text you asking for the PIN.

Use the Way2Go Card

Your Way2Go card is welcome everywhere MasterCard is accepted.  Select Credit or Debit at the grocery store checkout in store or for online food shopping.

What if I do not want to use my Way2Go benefits? 

If you are not interested in using the Way2Go benefit, please return the card by mailing it to the return address on the envelope.

I received a Way2Go card in error or got more benefits than I should have. What should I do?

If you received a Way2Go card, but your child does not receive free- or reduced-price school meals and you believe you are not eligible for these benefits, please do not use the card. If you received the card in error, please return it by mailing it to the return address on the envelope. If you received more One-Time Special Food Assistance benefits than you should have, please do not use the extra benefits.

What if I need a replacement Way2Go card?

If your Way2Go card has been lost, stolen or damaged, it is important to report it immediately by calling 1-844-551-0029. The customer service representative can assist with issuing a replacement Way2Go card.
