DOT TOT celebrates 10th anniversary

NJDOT staff, past and present, gathered today to celebrate the 10th anniversary of DOT TOT, the on-premises child care center for NJDOT employees.

"The establishment of DOT TOT, New Jersey’s first state sponsored child care center, reflected cooperation and commitment," said Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley, Jr. "It also represented the best in teamwork and excellence."

"Today’s milestone is also a chance for us to pause and reflect on what this facility has meant to the parents who work here," said Deputy Commissioner Stanley J. Rosenblum, who represented Commissioner Haley at today’s event. "It means they can come to work knowing their children are well cared for and that makes them better workers."

DOT TOT is located at DOT Headquarters in Ewing Township and has 60 children enrolled. Established in 1987, DOT TOT brought to fruition former Commissioner Hazel Frank Gluck’s goal of affordable, quality child care. Department of Personnel Commissioner Linda Anselmini, who served as a special assistant to Commissioner Gluck at the time, played a key role in the establishment of DOT TOT and attended today’s ceremony.
