Routes 4 and 17 Bids Opened

Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley, Jr. today announced that the Department of Transportation received six construction bids for the upcoming Route 4 and 17 Interchange project. The apparent low bidder is a consortium of Bishop-Sanzari, Inc., of White Plains, NY and Fletcher Creamer Inc., of Hackensack, NJ at $49, 747, 584. 55.

"Today’s bid opening represents another milestone for this critical project," the Commissioner said. "The fact that we received six bids on a very complex project is indicative of the strong competition for this work and helps to assure the best price possible. Today’s announcement reflects our desire to keep everyone informed about each phase of this project."

The other five bids ranged in price from $53 to $72 million dollars. NJDOT intends to award this project by the end of this month.
