Route 9 southbound lane closure for emergency bridge repairs
in Woodbridge
Bridge repairs to begin after the evening commute

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the emergency closure of the right lane of Route 9 southbound for emergency bridge work in Woodbridge over Green Street.
The closure will begin at 8 p.m. after the evening commute and is expected to be completed before Tuesday’s morning commute. The work to replace a deck joint on the bridge over Green Street is just after Route 9 splits from Route 1 in the area of milepost 136.08 just north of the Woodbridge Mall. One lane will remain open in the southbound direction. NJDOT recommends that motorists plan their trips accordingly and prepare for delays in the region. Route 9 northbound will not be affected.
NJDOT will be using Variable Message Signs to provide advance notification to motorists of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
