Route 3 overnight lane closures under Paterson Plank Road Bridge for repairs in Secaucus

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced overnight lane closures on Route 3 for ongoing repairs and evaluation at Paterson Plank Road Bridge in Secaucus, Hudson County.

Starting at 9 p.m. tonight, May 14, until 5:30 a.m. the next day, and continuing nightly until complete, NJDOT maintenance crews will close lanes underneath Paterson Plank Road on Route 3 in alternating directions to continue making overhead bridge girder repairs. This work is a continuation of emergency repairs that began Friday. At least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

Construction is expected to continue nightly for the next several days. Motorists are advised to expect delays, use caution, and consider an alternate route.

Variable message signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the emergency repairs.

Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info and on the NJDOT Facebook page.
