Improvements
The goal of
the I-295 project is to
rehabilitate the main roadway
pavement, shoulders, and
ramps and to replace bridge
decks of the five structures
located in the vicinity
of the Route 30 interchange.
Improvements
will focus on pavement rehabilitation/reconstruction
and structure repairs, as
well as guide rail, medians,
shoulders and drainage.
Overpass structure decks
will be reconstructed at
the following locations:
- I-295 over
3rd and 9th Streets
- I-295 over Atlantic
Avenue
- I-295 over Clements
Bridge Road
- I-295 over Route 30
(White Horse Pike)
- I-295 over Copley Road
Various traffic
mitigation measures including
a pole mounted closed circuit
camera and speed detectors
will be installed at various
locations along the corridor.
The proposed
project will update the
following conditions:
- Acceleration/Deceleration
lanes lengthened to meet
the current design standards
- Vertical curve stopping
sight distance
- Super elevation rates
- Guide rail and guide
rail end treatments
- Curb heights
- Drainage system
